Portugal Allocates €40 Million for Setúbal Wastewater Treatment Plant Refurbishment and Mining Exploration
Portugal plans to invest €40 million in basic sanitation, focusing on the refurbishment of the Setúbal Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and ten related projects. This investment aims to enhance sanitation reliability and environmental performance, with a presentation session scheduled next Friday. Additionally, Boliden Somincor is set to increase exploration investments at the Alentejo mine, targeting production stability and operational safety, with a processed ore volume goal of 4.5 million tonnes annually through 2026.

Portugal's investment plan includes €40 million for basic sanitation in Setúbal, focusing on the refurbishment of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) as part of ten projects under SIMARSUL's Investment Plan until 2030. This refurbishment aims to enhance water reuse and stimulate regional development.
The investment will be detailed at a session next Friday, where contracts and protocols for pumping stations will be signed. Concurrently, Boliden Somincor will boost exploration investments at the Alentejo mine, maintaining processed ore volumes near 4.5 million tonnes until 2026, focusing on production stability and safety.
