Power Grid Corporation of India Increases FY26 Capex Forecast to ₹32,000 Crores
Power Grid Corporation of India has increased its capital expenditure forecast for FY26 to ₹32,000 crores from ₹28,000 crores, reflecting strong execution visibility and the acquisition of seven Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding contracts. The Indian government aims to raise investments by state-owned power firms to ₹1,01,762.92 crores in 2026-27, with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman proposing an investment increase for Power Grid Corp to ₹37,000 crores for the next fiscal year. Additionally, Power Grid is expanding its global operations through a partnership with Africa50 for a $311 million project in Kenya.

The company secured seven Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding contracts, including a transmission system for Uttar Pradesh's Pumped Storage Projects, with a cost of ₹3,626 crores.
The Indian government plans to boost investments by state-owned power firms to ₹1,01,762.92 crores in 2026-27, a 19% increase. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman proposed raising Power Grid Corp's investment to ₹37,000 crores for the next fiscal year. Additionally, Power Grid expanded its global transmission operations in partnership with Africa50 for the Kenya PPP Project, estimated at $311 million, which includes developing key transmission lines.
