Power Restoration Delayed for Over 50,000 in Northern Louisiana After Winter Storm Fern
More than 50,000 households and businesses in northern Louisiana remain without power following Winter Storm Fern, with full restoration not expected until January 31. Entergy reported 50,206 outages, primarily in northeastern Louisiana, particularly Ouachita Parish, where approximately 33,000 customers were affected.
Other parishes with outages include Bienville, Caldwell, East Carroll, Jackson, Madison, Morehouse, Richland, West Carroll, and Winn, each with varying restoration timelines. Richland Parish, home to a $27 billion Meta data center project, reported nearly 3,000 outages. Governor Jeff Landry has requested a federal disaster declaration to assist recovery efforts, and the state has confirmed eight storm-related deaths.
