Power Up Connect and Dominion Energy Launch World's First Fire Code-Compliant Mobile Battery Energy Storage System
Power Up Connect and Dominion Energy have launched the Green Grid 90 kWh Mobile Battery Energy Storage System (MBESS), the world's first fire code-compliant mobile battery system. This UL-certified technology is designed for rapid deployment, providing reliable, zero-emission power for various applications while integrating solar panels for sustainable energy. The initiative aims to replace diesel generators, enhancing utility operations' reliability and reducing emissions.

Power Up Connect has deployed its Green Grid 90 kWh Mobile Battery Energy Storage System (MBESS) with Dominion Energy, marking a significant advancement in zero-emission power solutions. The Green Grid MBESS is the first mobile battery energy storage system compliant with the International Fire Code and holds UL 9540/9540A safety certification.
The system, unveiled at a ceremony in Chesterfield, Virginia, is designed for rapid deployment and can provide 208/120V three-phase electricity for various applications, including temporary grid power and emergency response. It integrates solar panels for sustainable energy delivery.
This initiative reflects a shift from diesel generators, improving reliability and reducing emissions in utility operations. Power Up Connect, based in Baltimore, Maryland, emphasizes innovation and domestic manufacturing in its clean energy solutions.
