PowerBank's BESS 903 project has obtained Official Plan and Zoning Bylaw Amendment approvals, marking a critical milestone in its development. This project, which secured a 22-year contract in July 2023, is key to addressing increasing electricity demand driven by AI and data centers.

PowerBank Corporation's BESS 903 project has achieved crucial Official Plan Amendment and Zoning Bylaw Amendment approvals as of July 21, 2026, concluding a complex permitting phase. The project is now moving towards Site Plan Approval, with construction permits expected by Q4 2026.
Previously, the project secured a 22-year contract with the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), promising a fixed capacity payment of $1,221/MW per business day, surpassing the average for similar projects. Battery storage systems are anticipated to grow significantly, with projections of reaching US$99.7 billion by 2033. The project is jointly owned by PowerBank and First Nations communities, with PowerBank holding a 50% stake.
