PowerCell Secures SEK 12 Million Order for 100 kW Hydrogen Fuel Cell Systems for Aerospace Testing
PowerCell Group has received a SEK 12 million follow-up order from a European aerospace research institute for modular 100 kW fuel cell systems, with delivery scheduled for 2026. This contract follows a SEK 25 million order in 2021 and signals the aviation sector's commitment to zero-emission technologies.
The MS-100 fuel cell system, designed for easy integration, will be used in testing scenarios simulating flight conditions. PowerCell's collaboration with ZeroAvia, initiated in 2021, supports the development of hydrogen-electric powertrains for regional aircraft.
This new contract aligns with EU initiatives like the Clean Aviation Joint Undertaking, promoting R&D in hydrogen technologies through 2030. PowerCell aims to leverage its expertise in PEM stacks to secure a competitive edge in the aerospace market while addressing challenges in hydrogen storage and integration.
