PowerChina Secures $1.9 Billion EPC Contract for UAE Solar and Storage Project
Power Construction Corporation of China has secured a $1.9 billion EPC contract for a 2.1GW solar photovoltaic plant and 7.75GWh battery storage in Abu Dhabi, supporting clean energy initiatives and reliability. The project, led by Masdar, aligns with the UAE's decarbonization goals and will enhance energy security. Construction is set for 21 months, aiming for efficient deployment of solar arrays and battery systems.

Power Construction Corporation of China has secured a $1.9 billion Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for a 2.1GW solar photovoltaic plant and 7.75GWh of battery storage in Abu Dhabi, part of a major renewable energy initiative led by Masdar. The contract, signed on March 12, 2026, represents one of the largest solar and storage EPC awards globally, aiming to enhance energy stability and support the UAE's clean energy targets.
The project is expected to follow a 21-month construction schedule, with site preparation and civil works commencing immediately. The collaboration supports local supply chains, creates jobs, and strengthens international partnerships in renewable energy.
