Powergrid Issues Tender for 150 MW/300 MWh BESS in Andhra Pradesh
Powergrid has released a tender for a 150 MW/300 MWh Battery Energy Storage System in Kalikiri, Andhra Pradesh, part of a larger 1,000 MW/2,000 MWh initiative. Bids are open until June 04, 2026, highlighting the project's significance in enhancing energy storage capacity in the region.

A tender has been issued by Powergrid for the establishment of a 150 MW/300 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the 400/220 kV SS Kalikiri Substation in Andhra Pradesh. This initiative is part of a larger project involving 1,000 MW/2,000 MWh BESS, supported by Viability Gap Funding through PSDF.
Bidders are invited to submit proposals until June 04, 2026, with a completion timeline of 15 months and a subsequent 12-year maintenance obligation for the contractor. The project includes the development of a Battery System, Power Conversion System (PCS), and interconnection with existing infrastructure.
