PowerSecure and Kit Carson Electric Cooperative Develop Microgrid Project in Northern New Mexico
PowerSecure collaborates with Kit Carson Electric Cooperative to enhance grid resilience through a microgrid project in Northern New Mexico. This initiative includes the construction of three microgrids with battery energy storage systems (BESS) aimed at improving community readiness against catastrophic events. The project will add 7.5 MW of BESS, supporting critical power loads during severe events.

PowerSecure is partnering with Kit Carson Electric Cooperative (KCEC) on a microgrid project in Northern New Mexico, focusing on enhancing grid resilience. The initiative includes the construction of three microgrids equipped with battery energy storage systems (BESS).
These facilities will support critical loads during severe events, including wildfires and extreme weather conditions. Currently under construction, the project will add 7.5 MW of BESS (38.25 MWh), allowing for public safety power shutoffs while maintaining local power services. This collaboration aims to ensure reliable and sustainable power delivery to KCEC's service area.
