PowerSecure and PRECorp Launch Utility-Scale Energy Storage and Solar Project in Wyoming
PowerSecure partners with PRECorp to implement a hybrid solar and battery energy storage project in Wyoming. This initiative aims to enhance grid reliability and lower wholesale power costs for PRECorp by up to $1 million annually, addressing peak demand challenges due to industrial growth.

PowerSecure is collaborating with Powder River Energy Corporation (PRECorp) and the NRTC to establish a utility-scale solar and battery energy storage project in Moorcroft, Wyoming. The project includes a 5 MW battery storage system with a total capacity of 21.6 MWh and 1.25 MWdc of solar generation, aimed at improving peak demand management, enhancing reliability, and providing backup power during outages.
Completion is expected in 2027. This initiative may significantly impact rural energy infrastructure by offering advanced solutions to meet increasing energy demands and reduce costs, positioning PRECorp to better serve its members.
