PowerX Introduces PowerX Energy Blade for Data Centers
PowerX has launched the concept for the PowerX Energy Blade, a rack-mounted battery energy storage solution aimed at data centers, set to debut in 2027. The system enhances grid flexibility and offers new revenue opportunities for operators by enabling demand response and frequency containment reserve participation.

PowerX, Inc. has unveiled the PowerX Energy Blade, a battery energy storage system for data centers, with a target launch in 2027. The system utilizes lithium-ion cells for rapid charge and discharge and supports 800V DC, facilitating bidirectional power management to respond to grid demands.
It allows data centers to act as flexible grid resources, optimizing power consumption and enabling participation in grid flexibility markets. This innovation follows the Mega Power DC modular data center announced in February 2026, reinforcing PowerX's strategy to enhance AI infrastructure. The move is significant, as data centers can now improve energy efficiency and create new revenue streams.
