PowerX Launches PowerX Energy Blade for Data Centers
PowerX, Inc. has introduced the PowerX Energy Blade, a rack-mounted battery storage system for data centers, slated for 2027. As data centers face rising energy demands due to AI adoption, this system aims to enhance energy management and stability, potentially opening new revenue streams for operators.
PowerX Energy Blade is designed to address challenges in energy management for data centers, utilizing optimized lithium-ion cells for rapid charging and discharging. The system supports 800 V DC, catering to the latest AI GPUs and has the capability to replace conventional battery backup units.
It enables data centers to act as flexible network resources, responding to grid signals within milliseconds. The implementation will provide operators access to frequency containment reserve markets and demand response programs, potentially leading to improved energy contracts and server deployment efficiency. This product builds on PowerX's previously announced Mega Power DC, expanding its portfolio in battery-powered solutions for building-based data centers.
