PPC Renewables Romania to Construct 40.08 MW Battery Storage at Corugea Wind Farm
PPC Renewables Romania is developing a 40.08 MW battery energy storage system at the Corugea wind farm, enhancing its renewable energy portfolio. This project, valued at RON 87.4 million, will improve energy stability and efficiency in the region.

PPC Renewables Romania will implement a 40.08 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) at the Corugea wind farm in Tulcea County, Romania. The project, valued at RON 87.4 million, includes RON 9.9 million in European co-financing from the Modernization Fund.
The Corugea wind farm, featuring 35 turbines with a combined capacity of 70 MW, generates approximately 190,000 MWh annually, serving over 70,000 households and reducing CO₂ emissions by 130,000 tonnes yearly. The BESS will contribute to the company's goal of reaching 2 GW of installed capacity in Romania this year, alongside another BESS project in Giurgiu County.
