President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the modernization of the drinking water supply system in Surkhandarya, where centralized coverage increased from 47% to 67.5%. The $287 million project utilizes water from the 'Topalang' reservoir, enhancing supply to ten districts and Termez city.

Key achievements include 246 kilometers of water networks and the reduction of water hardness by half. Annual electricity savings of 18.4 million kilowatt-hours were noted, along with the installation of solar panels. A Geo-Information Center monitors the system in real-time, improving overall efficiency and reducing ecological impacts.
