Prince William Tests Mobility Scooter and Explores Innovations at Bristol Robotics Laboratory
Prince William tested a three-wheeled mobility scooter at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory, emphasizing its safety and maneuverability on uneven terrain. He also learned about an exoskeleton designed to assist individuals with limited mobility and special socks that help manage stress levels in dementia patients.
Judith Suires from the University of Bristol highlighted that these technologies address challenges posed by an aging population. Additionally, he visited the Isambard-AI supercomputer, the UK's most powerful, used in climate research and drug development for heart disease, Alzheimer's, and cancer. William also met with the Earth-Shot-Prize finalist Matter, which creates washing machine filters to remove microplastics from wastewater.
