ProEXPLO 2026 Field Trip to Analyze Southern Peru Copper Deposits Scheduled
A specialized field trip to explore major Cu-Mo porphyry systems in southern Peru will take place from May 7 to 10, 2026, as part of proEXPLO 2026. This event, organized by the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers, targets professionals in the mining sector to enhance understanding of geological contexts and mineralization processes.

The Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) is hosting a field trip titled 'Exploring Giant Copper Deposits in Southern Peru' from May 7 to 10, 2026, focusing on Cu-Mo porphyry systems at Zafranal, Cerro Verde, Cuajone, and Toquepala. Participants will review drill core and visit operating mines, analyzing geological features and hydrothermal alterations.
The trip is designed for exploration geologists, mine geologists, and geology students. The registration fee is USD 1,500, covering transportation, accommodation, and meals.
