HYDROGEN
The dredging of Progreso's navigation canal, currently at 74% completion, is expected to finish in March 2026. The project will increase the canal's depth to 13.5 meters and width to 180 meters, accommodating larger vessels.
It is funded by a total of 12.225 billion pesos, with 10.2 billion pesos from the federal government. The completion deadline for the entire project is August 2028, but favorable weather may allow for an earlier finish.
The new earthworks will support future developments including a Green Hydrogen plant and a vehicle terminal. APM Terminals is also investing over 3 billion pesos in modernization of container terminal facilities.
