Progress and Challenges in US Hydrogen Sector Under Trump Administration
Under the Trump administration, the clean hydrogen sector is experiencing significant setbacks, including the early termination of the 45V clean hydrogen production tax credit initiated by the Biden administration. Additionally, two of the seven regional hydrogen hubs, which collectively received $8 billion in funding, have had their grants rescinded, leaving the remaining five hubs awaiting their allocated funds.

One year into President Donald Trump's second term, the clean hydrogen sector faces significant changes. The 45V clean hydrogen production tax credit, introduced by the Biden administration, will be terminated five years earlier than planned. Additionally, two of the seven regional hydrogen hubs, which were awarded a total of $8 billion in funding, have had their grants rescinded, while the remaining five hubs are pending the release of their allocated funds.
