Prologis Plans New Data Center Development in San Jose
Prologis has proposed a 516,000 square-foot data center in San Jose, with an electricity capacity of 99 megawatts. The project aims to enhance energy reliability and promote carbon-free power consumption in the region.

Prologis has filed a proposal to develop a 516,000 square-foot data center at 5977 Silver Creek Valley Road in San Jose, which includes 30,000 square feet of office space. The facility will feature an electricity capacity of 99 megawatts, supported by an onsite substation and dedicated backup generation facility.
Prologis acquired the site in 2022 as part of its purchase of Duke Realty for $23 billion, after Duke Realty had acquired the 15-acre land for $40.2 million in 2021. PG&E has recently doubled the capacity of the nearby substation to 80 megawatts and plans for further expansion. The project is expected to take two years to complete and will prioritize minimizing community impact and ensuring power reliability.
