Prominence Energy Begins Geochemical Survey for Hydrogen in South Australia’s Gawler Project
Prominence Energy has initiated its first geochemical survey for natural hydrogen and helium at the Gawler project in South Australia. This follows the successful acquisition of the project and aims to identify exploration targets. The survey is set to begin in April 2026 and will utilize soil gas and water bore sampling methods. The company reported a net loss of A$1,164,040 in FY2025 and secured A$1.75 million in funding for exploration.

Prominence Energy has commenced preparations for a geochemical survey at the Gawler project in South Australia, marking its entry into the region's hydrogen exploration. Following a binding agreement in June 2025 and the successful acquisition of the Gawler project in December 2025, the company will conduct the survey starting in April 2026.
This survey will use soil gas and water bore sampling to detect natural hydrogen and helium, helping prioritize future seismic and drilling activities scheduled for the second half of 2026. The company has identified multiple hydrogen source rocks and secured A$1.75 million in funding for its operations, while reporting a net loss of A$1,164,040 in FY2025.
