Proposed 2.25 Million Sq Ft Data Center Campus Near Phoenix, Arizona
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors approved the rezoning of a 638-acre site near Tonopah, Arizona, to the IND-2 Zoning District, permitting industrial uses including data centers. The site could host up to nine data center buildings, each 250,000 sq ft, totaling 2.25 million sq ft.
The county planning commission previously recommended approval. The location is near Capital Power's Harquahala Generating Facility, a 1GW gas-generation plant owned by Capital Power and BlackRock since 2024.
