Proposed AI and Energy Campus in Iron County to Create 500 Jobs
BrightNight's proposed AI campus in Iron County aims to create 500 permanent jobs and integrate on-site power generation. The project signals a shift towards large-scale data infrastructure development in Utah.

BrightNight's proposed AI and energy campus in Iron County is expected to generate approximately 500 permanent jobs and numerous temporary construction positions. The development will feature a phased approach, starting with a 300-megawatt facility, expanding to 750 megawatts, and potentially reaching 1.5 gigawatts.
The project will be constructed on roughly 2,600 acres, with about 1,700 acres earmarked for development, including up to 10 data center buildings. Environmental assessments have indicated no protected species or wetlands in the area. The next step involves a conditional use permit process set for July, which may increase local business opportunities.
