Provincie Grants Exemption for Data Center Development in Aalsmeer
The province has approved an exemption for a data center at Oosteinderweg 247B in Aalsmeer, replacing existing structures. The data center will cover 10,800 square meters with a height of up to 10 meters. It meets provincial conditions for new developments exceeding 2,000 square meters and 5 MVA electrical capacity, contributing to improved traffic safety and environmental enhancements.

The province has approved the establishment of a data center in Aalsmeer at Oosteinderweg 247B, replacing old warehouses on the former Bloemenlust auction site. The new facility will have a gross floor area of 10,800 square meters and a maximum height of 10 meters.
This approval comes as part of the provincial data center strategy, which allows such developments under specific conditions. The project is designed to reduce traffic and enhance safety, while also positively impacting the local energy system by supplying residual heat to nearby businesses. The area currently features mainly horticultural and recreational businesses.
