PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium Celebrates 50 Years with Record Production and Social Initiatives
PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Inalum) celebrates its 50th anniversary with record production and sales of 280,082 MT and 280,141 MT in 2025, respectively. In a show of corporate responsibility, the company canceled its anniversary festivities to support communities affected by natural disasters in Sumatra, redirecting funds to social initiatives. Founded in 1976 and fully government-owned since 2013, Inalum continues to play a vital role in Indonesia's aluminum industry.

PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Inalum) marks its 50th anniversary by achieving record production and sales, registering all-time highs of 280,082 MT and 280,141 MT respectively in 2025. CEO Melati Sarnita emphasized the company's commitment to sustainability and economic contribution since its establishment.
In response to natural disasters in Sumatra, Inalum canceled its anniversary celebrations, redirecting funds to social initiatives supporting affected communities in North Sumatra, Aceh, and West Sumatra. Founded on January 6, 1976, as a joint venture, Inalum became wholly owned by the Indonesian government in 2013.
It serves as a key player in the national aluminum industry, managing hydroelectric power plants and supplying primary aluminum for domestic and export markets. Inalum aims to strengthen its role in the integrated aluminum industry moving forward.
