PT Semen Padang, part of SIG, is constructing 181 temporary shelters (huntara) in West Sumatra for flood victims using 3,310 bags of Semen Padang cement. The shelters are located in Agam, Padang Pariaman, and Pesisir Selatan.

The initiative, supported by local government and military, aims to provide safe housing while permanent reconstruction is underway. West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi Ansharullah emphasized the importance of collaboration between the provincial government and PT Semen Padang for post-disaster rehabilitation, highlighting a need of 80% of the proposed Rp22 trillion for infrastructure recovery. The use of green cement aligns with the province's Green Province initiative.
