Otter Tail Power and Xcel Energy are hosting open houses for the BSSHB transmission line project on April 7 and 8. This 345-kV line will enhance regional electricity reliability across South Dakota and North Dakota.

Otter Tail Power and Xcel Energy will conduct open houses on April 7 in Wilmot, SD, and April 8 in Milbank, SD, to discuss the proposed 345-kV transmission line connecting South Dakota and North Dakota. The BSSHB project spans approximately 150 miles, linking the Big Stone South Substation to the Hankinson and Bison substations.
The initiative aims to strengthen the electric grid, providing reliable and cost-effective electricity to consumers. Public input is crucial for the routing process, and more project information is available online. This project could significantly impact energy distribution and infrastructure resilience in the region.
