PUMA Advances Textile Recycling with RE:FIBRE Technology for Future Football Kits
PUMA will implement its RE:FIBRE textile recycling technology in all replica football kits starting in 2024, shifting from traditional polyester to recycled materials derived from old garments and waste. This initiative addresses textile waste and aims for sustainable manufacturing practices within the sports apparel industry.

PUMA's RE:FIBRE technology will be used in all replica football jerseys, including those for major tournaments, from 2024. Since its pilot launch in 2022, RE:FIBRE has produced kits for the Women's World Cup and Girona's Third kit.
The RE:FIBRE process includes collecting textile waste, shredding, dissolving, filtering, polymerizing, and finally spinning and sewing new fabric. This innovation aims to reduce reliance on clear plastic bottles for recycled polyester and support a circular economy.
PUMA's commitment to sustainability involves a goal of 100% polyester sourced from textile waste, addressing the environmental risks of landfill accumulation. The impact of this initiative may influence broader industry practices towards sustainable textile recycling.
