Punjab Announces Rs 75 Crore Development Plans Including First Glass Bridge in North India
Punjab's Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann unveiled a Rs 75 crore development initiative in Nangal, featuring North India's first glass bridge and a Centre of Excellence for emerging technologies. The projects aim to enhance infrastructure, tourism, and skill development, with a focus on educational access for women and improved irrigation management.

Punjab's Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced Rs 75 crore in development projects for Nangal, including the construction of North India's first glass bridge over Nangal lake, estimated at Rs 10 crore, set to be completed in six months. A Centre of Excellence will be established for Rs 23 crore, offering training in fields like robotics and electric vehicles to 540 youth.
The state also plans to improve educational infrastructure with a new auditorium and academic block at Dr BR Ambedkar School of Eminence for Rs 18 crore. The irrigation sector will benefit from an additional 11,000 cusecs of water, enhancing agricultural productivity.
Over 65,000 government jobs have been created transparently for youth, and health cards have been issued to 6.5 million families for free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh. These initiatives are expected to modernize Nangal’s infrastructure and promote economic growth.
