PV Power Leads Consortium for $2.5 Billion LNG Power Plant in Nghe An, Vietnam

The Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has approved an investment consortium led by PV Power for the Quynh Lap LNG Power Plant project. The consortium includes PV Power, Nghe An Sugar Company, and SK Innovation from South Korea.

This project, approved under the VIII Power Plan, aims to generate electricity from liquefied natural gas (LNG) and support Vietnam's clean energy transition. The project will comprise a 1,500 MW power plant and a 250,000 m3 LNG storage facility, with an estimated investment of over 59.372 trillion VND. PV Power aims to maintain its position as a top electricity provider, focusing on LNG development and transitioning to hydrogen and ammonia fuel sources by 2030.
