Qatar Launches Bidding for Power Transmission System Expansion

The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has launched a bidding process for a major expansion of its power transmission system, aiming for completion in 2026. This tender includes an EPC contract for new substations across multiple voltage levels, specifically 400/132/11kV, 132/11kV, and 66/11kV, along with the installation of 400kV extra-high voltage cables.
The deadline for bid submissions is May 14. The initiative is part of Kahramaa's strategy to bolster its transmission network and enhance operational efficiency. The segmented work involves constructing new substations and upgrading existing ones, indicating a significant investment in infrastructure development in the region.
