Queen City Wastewater Project Set for Mid-October Completion; 2026 Tax Levy to Remain Unchanged
Queen City’s wastewater treatment facility is on track for substantial completion by mid-October 2026. The Board of Aldermen has voted to keep the 2026 tax levy unchanged, reflecting stable fiscal management amidst ongoing infrastructure improvements.

The wastewater treatment project in Queen City is anticipated to be substantially complete by mid-October. Key milestones include the installation of buried electrical lines, rigid conduit for the ultraviolet treatment system, and a completed control structure.
Equipment such as blowers is expected to arrive soon, with ongoing electrical work. The Board of Aldermen also confirmed no changes to the 2026 tax levy after a vote. The community garage sale is set for September 4-5, and the board has waived wastewater fees for the local fire department. Future project meetings are scheduled to ensure continued oversight and progress tracking.
