Rabla 2026 Program Excludes Dacia Spring and Chinese Electric Models
Romania's Rabla voucher program will not include vehicles manufactured in China starting in 2026, impacting models like the Dacia Spring. This policy aligns with EU efforts to limit subsidies for non-European vehicles, aiming to boost local production and environmental goals.

Starting in 2026, the Dacia Spring, produced in China, will be excluded from Romania's Rabla voucher program, which will now only cover vehicles manufactured in the EU or nearby countries with European production facilities. Dacia models produced in Romania, Morocco, and Turkey remain eligible, with Morocco's production exceeding that of Romania's Mioveni plant.
This policy reflects broader EU initiatives to restrict subsidies for Chinese-made vehicles, affecting brands such as BYD and Tesla. The Romanian Ministry of Environment is also evaluating similar restrictions for energy storage batteries, following a rise in renewable energy prosumers in the country. Critics warn these changes may limit consumer choice and raise prices for eligible vehicles.
