Racks Central has received funding from the China ASEAN Investment Cooperation Fund II, aimed at expanding its data center capabilities in Southeast Asia. The investment will facilitate the construction of an AI factory in Johor, consisting of four developments with a total capacity of 510MW.
Currently, Racks Central operates a 12MW colocation data center in Singapore. The partnership with ESR, the fund's advisor, is intended to leverage expertise in the rapidly evolving demands of AI and digital infrastructure. This is critical as Southeast Asia's digital demand increases, posing potential risks for companies that do not adapt to these changes.
