RCT Hydrogen Secures 10MW Electrolyser Order for Portuguese Hydrogen Project
RCT Hydrogen has secured a 10MW contract for a green hydrogen project in Portugal, marking a significant milestone for the Sino-German joint venture. The project, developed by Beyond Green, is set to commence production in summer 2027, amidst increasing competition in the European market for electrolyser manufacturers.

Sino-German joint venture RCT Hydrogen has won a contract to supply a 10MW electrolyser to the Green Hydrogen Sines project in Portugal, recently achieving a final investment decision. Production is expected to begin in summer 2027, with RCT GH responsible for supplying all project components and commissioning the plant.
This order is among the first large-scale announcements for the JV, which plans to establish 250MW of manufacturing capacity in Germany. The joint venture is also developing a 5MW electrolyser in Saarbrücken, Germany. The increasing interest of Chinese electrolyser firms in the European market is driven by domestic price competition, while EU regulations limit sourcing from China for funded projects.
