Recydel Implements Fire Prevention Measures at Wandre Site by 2031
Recydel is investing several million euros in a phased project to enhance water management and fire prevention by 2031. This initiative addresses past fire incidents, particularly related to lithium battery storage, with improvements including water reserves for firefighting and enhanced detection systems.

Recydel's project at its Wandre site includes significant investments in water management and fire prevention, structured in six phases until 2031. Key actions involve creating a 1,700 cubic meter stormwater basin, an internal wastewater treatment station, and a 300 cubic meter water reserve for firefighting.
To mitigate noise pollution, a vegetated berm will be installed, and measures like closure of industrial doors and improved storage organization are planned. Enhanced dust management will also be implemented, including increased road cleaning and dedicated biodiversity areas.
Following recent incidents, systems for fire detection and prevention will be upgraded, particularly in waste storage areas. No new production lines will be added, confirming no site expansion.
