Red Hat Unveils asago Community for AI Safety and Governance Automation
Red Hat has launched asago, an open-source project aimed at automating AI governance, enhancing safety and compliance in production environments. The initiative connects the efforts of various stakeholders, including technology firms and academic institutions, to streamline the transition from AI policy to operational deployment.

The asago project, announced by Red Hat, intends to automate the translation of AI governance policies into product-ready systems, significantly reducing deployment times. It aims to unify compliance teams, data scientists, and engineers under a standardized workflow that ensures traceability and auditability across AI systems.
Key collaborators include Alquimia AI, Brave Software, IBM Research, Microsoft, and NVIDIA, among others. The project will integrate with existing open-source tools to provide compliance evidence and operational controls, addressing gaps in current AI governance frameworks. As organizations increasingly adopt AI, asago's ability to create a continuous audit trail could enhance enterprise confidence in AI deployments and address safety challenges effectively.
