Refresh Initiative in Birkenhead Shortlisted for National Environment Award
CIRCULAR ECONOMY & RECYCLING
The Refresh initiative, based in Birkenhead and funded by Magenta Living, has been shortlisted for the Environment award in the Travis Perkins Managed Services Better Together Awards. This initiative aims to provide a circular economy solution by rescuing high-quality furniture from empty homes and redistributing it to residents in need.
The project has intercepted over nine tonnes of furniture from landfill in the past year. The award ceremony will take place on March 5, where a £5,000 grant from the Travis Perkins Legacy Fund will be awarded if the project wins, aiding its expansion.
