Rehabilitation of Wastewater Treatment Plant in Santa Cruz Palomeque Completed
The rehabilitation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Santa Cruz Palomeque, Mérida, was completed with a 5 million pesos investment, enhancing sanitation for over 2,600 residents. This project is crucial for safeguarding the aquifer and improving public health conditions in the area.

Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena announced the completion of the Wastewater Treatment Plant rehabilitation with a budget of five million pesos. This project restores the sanitation infrastructure, enabling effective wastewater treatment and preventing contamination of the aquifer, which serves as the primary water source for the local population.
The intervention includes renovations to hydraulic installations, plumbing systems, and the installation of new electromechanical equipment. The governor highlighted the importance of such infrastructure improvements for community health and environmental protection, noting that the previous system had been inefficient and posed risks for years. These efforts are part of the broader Welfare for Mérida program, which aims to enhance public health infrastructure and community amenities.
