Relocalize Launches Autonomous Microfactory in Montréal for Cold-Pack Production
Relocalize is set to open a microfactory in Montréal in Q4 2026, focusing on sustainable cold-pack production. This facility aims to revolutionize decentralized manufacturing through automation and robotics, marking a significant step in Canada's industrial landscape.

Relocalize will open its second autonomous microfactory in Montréal's Griffintown by Q4 2026, specializing in 100% water-based cold packs for meal delivery. The startup recently secured $7 million CAD in seed funding and an additional $2.5 million from CWV Sustainable Royalties, totaling $18.1 million in capital raised since its founding in 2021.
This facility will operate with minimal or no lighting, utilizing AI and robotics, and aims to reduce carbon emissions by localizing production. The opening represents a shift from pilot programs to full commercialization, with plans for a Series A round to expand operations. The Canadian market remains behind in industrial robotics adoption, presenting a risk of lagging in global competition.
