Rembus Depot Construction Advances for Kuching Urban Transportation System
The Rembus Depot in Kota Samarahan is on track to support the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) system's launch, ensuring operational efficiency and safety. Close collaboration among stakeholders is essential for timely completion and minimal disruption during construction.

The Rembus Depot is being developed in Kota Samarahan as a primary operations and maintenance hub for the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) with a focus on meeting high operational and safety standards. Sarawak Transport Minister Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin emphasized the necessity of effective communication and cooperation among Sarawak Metro, the depot contractor AIU JV, and various utility providers.
The depot will include essential facilities such as the administration and operations control center, mechanical workshops, a stabling yard, a test track, and hydrogen production and refueling facilities. Continuous collaboration among all parties is critical to ensuring project efficiency and safety throughout the construction phase.
