Irish Premium Renewable Energy has resubmitted a planning application for five wind turbines near Dungloe. The project aims to support national renewable energy targets and is projected to provide local economic benefits.

A planning application for five wind turbines near Dungloe has been resubmitted by Irish Premium Renewable Energy. This latest proposal seeks a 35-year operational life for the turbines, extending from a previously withdrawn 10-year application made in December 2025.
The site, located in Croaghnashallog approximately 2km south of Dungloe, spans 25 hectares. Each turbine will have a maximum tip height of 86 metres and a combined capacity of 4.9MW. Additional infrastructure includes a Medium Voltage substation, underground cabling, site signage, access tracks, and a temporary compound. The project aims to contribute to Ireland's target of 80% renewable electricity by 2030 and is expected to create local jobs and stimulate economic activity.
