Ridgewood Infrastructure Acquires Controlling Interest in Sierra Railroad Company and CVAT
Ridgewood Infrastructure has acquired a controlling interest in Sierra Railroad Company, a California-based shortline rail platform. Concurrently, Sierra is acquiring Central Valley Ag Transport, enhancing its agricultural transloading capabilities. Sierra Northern Railway, a subsidiary of Sierra, provides freight services across 130 miles of track in California and operates the only FRA-approved hydrogen-powered locomotive in the U.S.

Ridgewood Infrastructure has acquired a controlling interest in Sierra Railroad Company, a shortline rail platform in California. As part of the transaction, Sierra is acquiring Central Valley Ag Transport (CVAT), which enhances its agricultural transloading capabilities.
Sierra Northern Railway, a subsidiary of Sierra, operates approximately 130 miles of track and provides freight services, benefiting from access to major rail networks. The acquisition includes Railpower, Inc., which operates the only FRA-approved hydrogen-powered locomotive in the U.S. This partnership aims to expand Sierra's operational capacities and deepen customer relationships.
