RIVSAL Holdings Inc, a Houston-based renewable energy startup, has joined Greentown Labs in Houston to develop its E1 Powerplant technology, which utilizes water for electrical generation. The company will operate from Greentown's facility in the Ion District, relocating its prototype there for further advancement.

Demonstrations of the E1 Powerplant will begin the week of February 2, 2026. RIVSAL's technology aims to provide industrial and commercial businesses with continuous on-site power generation, eliminating reliance on batteries or hydrogen storage.

The company, part of Rice University’s Rice Nexus innovation program since November 2025, seeks to attract customers for testing its technology. Founded in 2025, RIVSAL specializes in sustainable energy solutions that offer predictable costs and zero emissions.
