Rocket Lab Launches ST-HP Star Tracker for Extended Space Missions
Rocket Lab has launched the High-Performance Star Tracker (ST-HP) to enhance spacecraft capabilities for long-duration missions. The system features superior radiation tolerance and precise pointing accuracy, making it suitable for low Earth orbit and beyond.

Rocket Lab Corporation has launched the ST-HP, a next-generation High-Performance Star Tracker designed for extended missions. It offers pointing accuracy of better than one arcsecond and can endure over 50 kRad of total irradiation dose, ensuring reliable spacecraft orientation.
The ST-HP builds on over 185 previously deployed units and incorporates advanced radiation-hardening techniques for enhanced reliability. Production is centered at Rocket Lab's facility in Toronto, which is equipped with specialized testing infrastructure. This development may impact the competitiveness of Rocket Lab's offerings in commercial and government space missions, as the ST-HP strengthens their integrated component ecosystem.
