Rocket Lab Secures NASA Contract for Three Upcoming Electron Launches
Rocket Lab has been selected by NASA for three Electron rocket launches, marking a significant partnership in space exploration. This contract, valued in the context of Rocket Lab's growing backlog exceeding $2 billion, underscores the company's role in time-sensitive scientific missions.

Rocket Lab Corporation (NASDAQ: RKLB) has been awarded a contract by NASA for three launches of its Electron rocket, with two missions (PolSIR) scheduled for June 2027 and another (TSIS-2) in early 2027. The PolSIR mission will deploy two CubeSats to study ice clouds, while the TSIS-2 mission will measure solar energy output across various wavelengths.
Notably, Rocket Lab's backlog now exceeds $2 billion, reflecting strong demand from government and commercial sectors. The company's successful execution of the VICTUS HAZE mission for the U.S. Space Force has also demonstrated its rapid turnaround capabilities. Analysts view these contract wins as pivotal for Rocket Lab's growth trajectory, positioning it as a key player in the competitive space launch market.
