Rockwood Area School District Secures $570,000 for Natural Gas Pipeline Project
The Rockwood Area School District in Pennsylvania has received a $570,000 grant to extend natural gas service, replacing a 39-year-old coal-fired boiler. The project involves installing approximately 15,100 feet of natural gas pipeline, benefiting the school and providing access to nearby homes and businesses. This initiative aims to improve energy efficiency, reduce operational costs, and address environmental concerns.

The Rockwood Area School District in Pennsylvania secured a $570,000 grant from the Pipeline Investment Program to extend natural gas service. The project will replace an outdated coal-fired boiler with a new natural gas pipeline extending about 15,100 feet, improving energy efficiency and reducing environmental issues.
The grant, part of a larger $1,448,002 allocation by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, will also enable natural gas access for local homes and businesses, including ASSA ABLOY and Rockwood Casualty Insurance. The project aims to lower long-term operational costs and enhance service reliability for the school and surrounding community.
