Romanian Defense Ministry Upholds Procurement Standards in SAFE Program
The Romanian Ministry of National Defense will not engage in public procurement contracts that are not favorable to the institution. This decision is part of the ongoing SAFE program, with evaluation committees ensuring compliance with legal public procurement standards.
The Ministry of National Defense (MApN) confirmed it will refrain from signing disadvantageous public procurement contracts in the context of the SAFE program. Public procurement procedures are currently active, managed by nominated committees from MApN, which operate independently.
Following approvals from the Supreme Council for National Defense (CSAT) and the Romanian Parliament, the General Directorate for Armaments has issued invitations to economic operators for negotiations on each SAFE project, without prior notice publication. The MApN emphasizes adherence to the efficient use of public funds in all procurement processes.
