Romanian Precision Agriculture Consortium Launches to Enhance Agricultural Efficiency
The Romanian Precision Agriculture Consortium was established to improve productivity by 20% and reduce costs in agriculture using precision technologies. It plans to secure €30 million in funding over 24 months to support its initiatives.

The Romanian Precision Agriculture Consortium (RPAC) aims to increase agricultural productivity by approximately 20% while reducing costs through precision technologies. Launched with a Memorandum of Understanding on 24 April, the consortium targets a loss reduction of 10-15% and input cost savings of up to 20-30%.
RPAC's objectives include attracting €30 million in national and European funding over the next two years. Key initiatives involve smart farm monitoring, advanced irrigation solutions, and full traceability via blockchain.
The consortium's 'Living Lab' approach focuses on real-world pilot implementations to facilitate knowledge transfer and innovation adoption. This initiative aligns with the European Green Deal and supports farm viability through circular economy practices, potentially enhancing the competitiveness of Romania's agricultural sector.
