Romania's Data Centres Consume 0.2% of National Energy
Romania's data centres account for approximately 0.2% of the country's total energy consumption, significantly lower than the Netherlands and Denmark. This data highlights the comparatively minimal impact of data centres on Romania's energy landscape.

Data centres in Romania contribute about 0.2% to national energy consumption, according to analysis by Tema Energy presented at the DataCenter Forum 2026. In contrast, the Netherlands reports over 6% and Denmark 5%.
Romania's energy mix includes substantial contributions from wind, solar, and nuclear sources, which may influence the energy demand from data centres. The low percentage suggests potential for growth in the sector, which could strain energy resources if not managed effectively.
