Roscosmos Confirms ISS Deorbiting Schedule for 2028, Plans Ocean Plunge in 2030
Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Bakanov announced that the International Space Station (ISS) will start its gradual deorbiting in 2028, with a planned plunge into the ocean in 2030. Additionally, the first module of the Russian Orbital Station (ROS) will be launched from Baikonur Spaceport in 2028.

Dmitry Bakanov, CEO of Roscosmos, confirmed that the International Space Station (ISS) will begin deorbiting in 2028, leading to its plunge into the ocean in 2030. He emphasized the remaining years for joint ISS operation. In parallel, the first module of the Russian Orbital Station (ROS) is also scheduled for launch from Baikonur Spaceport in 2028, followed by the universal node and gateway modules.
